just. the emotion in his eyes. how he suddenly looks away and lowers his head and there’s such disappointment and sorrow there. it’s heartbreaking. it’s amazing, though - how much you get the sense that there’s so much pain behind the mask he wears, how there’s so much that’s happened in his life that maybe he just wants to forget, because even Sherlock’s human and humans hurt sometimes.

I thought about this when I watched the episode. If school sucks for normal people it must have been hell to him. “The Freak”, the know-it-all, the show-off weirdo kid.
